Whether I can actually 'see' anything is debatable (special thanks to the one professional who has been responsible for checking said vision for the past 30 years) ...but that is why I am fortunate to have found guidance from this person.
The building featured yesterday, the Palacio de los Capatanes Generales, is on the south side of the Parque Central. We spend at least part of each day in the park where you can get your shoes shined, shop for handicrafts, buy candy and engage in all sorts of other interesting diversions. There is a fountain in the center of the park and today we are going to look at it. Ready?
In this case, pictures will do such a better job than any pithy observations I could make, so let's get to them:
The lower part of the fountain features mermaids or sirenas. Astute observers will recall a mermaid theme in a photo from an earlier post showing the outside of a building. Here is a close-up:
And this is what it looks like when they turn the water on:
Yeah, totally awesome, huh? It is stuff like this which makes me appreciate having such good vision.
Notably seen around town: It is more common to see women wearing traditional clothing (faulty memory makes me think we have provided some examples of that already) here in Antigua so we were fortunate to see this person:
We claim no knowledge of traditional garb but believe this is from the Todos Santos area.
