Do you Miss Guatemala


Went to San Pedro las Huertas Saturday morning on what turned out to be a failed mission. San Pedro is a bit south of Antigua and this is what it looks like:

That is the church bells and the three man band making noise on the church steps accompanied by fireworks. Saturday was laundry day in San Pedro so the public laundry was hopping:

Around San Pedro are several public sources for water:

A couple guys rode their horses into town and hitched them in the park:

San Pedro is closer to Volcano Agua:
 Stopped at the market on the way back into town and bought yummy fresh peppers:
And went and met our South African friends to play rugby:
Then went to dinner at their house for grilled steak and chicken and smoked marlin dip.  Another couple who have a billfishing charter business in Guatemala joined us. He is South African and his wife is Guatemalan (a former major beauty pageant winner, hence the title). And of course they have two gorgeous bi-lingual children. Not a bad day.
